c.1935, designed by John Vassos (Romanian / American 1898–1985), chrome-plated steel, aluminum and plastic, single speed 78rpm crank operated turntable having a fold-out crank, built in speaker, volume control on the side, “Slow / Fast” settings for pitch adjustment, spring-closing hinged-lidded compartments marked “New Needles” and “Used Needles” containing needles, storage rack in lid for records; designed for playing while closed, having an “off” button on exterior side
