(2) German-made chip carved boxes having velvet top and side panels, bail handles on hinged lids, metal mounts and locks, including dated “1912” on lid having brass lion masks and ball feet; having brass paw feet, enameled armorial mounts including one reading “Gruss aus Metz” on front, monogrammed “EO” and inscription in brass reading “Zum Andenkenan meine Dienstzeit/ 95/ 97” on back, mirror having painted floral decoration on underside of lid and removable tray

Condition: Good, wear to textiles; keys missing; wear to linings; one having a lion mask missing ring; the other having a paw foot broken and chips to wood on back; overall light to moderate wear consistent with normal use
