Leonard Auction broke the six-figure threshold when we sold “Psyche Abandoned” by Kehinde Wiley for $118,000 to a buyer in New York.
Our First Online Only Auction
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we conducted our first ever online only auction. Our staff were all safely at home with the entire sale conducted over a Zoom meeting. The format worked so well that we have continued with our online only sales to this day.
Chicago Office Opens
Leonard Auction opens its first Chicago satellite office just north of the Willis (Sears) Tower at 318 West Adams, Suite 1526.
New Headquarters Opens
Leonard Auction opens at it’s new corporate headquarters located in Addison, Illinois at 330 West Interstate Road.
Leonard Auction conducts it’s 200th auction, an antique and estate sale featuring 308 lots.
Leonard Auction conducts it’s 100th auction, a coin and currency sale featuring 245 lots.
First Auction with Live Internet Bidding
We incorporated ProxiBid into our auction platform to provide live, real-time auction bidding.
We moved to Addison, Illinois after quickly outgrowing our building in Naperville, Illinois. The new building was more than twice the size and provided ample space for our growing business.
Leonard Auction conducted its first auction. The entire sale grossed $387.
Leonard Auction Opens
We opened our doors May 1, 2006 in Naperville, Illinois. The 3,000 square foot auction house was sub-leased from an antique mall located in an old Frank’s Nursery building.
