English Tavern Clock

Late 18th or early 19th century; walnut tavern wall clock or “Act of Parliament” clock having molded 24-inch circular enamel face with black Roman chapters, ancillary seconds dial and molded edge; timepiece movement having tapered rectangle plates and spring suspended pendulum to anchor escapement; trunk having arcaded arch appliqued short door with flanking engaged quarter columns and molded base

Condition: Good, enamel face having surface scuffs and scratches, (3) spots of enamel loss, areas of enamel loss around edge of face due to frame wear; cracks in wood frame encircling the glass, 1.5-inch area of wood loss; expansion cracks to sides of case; horizontal crack to top of trunk on front; expansion buckling and cracking to seams of veneer trim on trunk door; molding on trunk bottom having areas of cracking to sides and front, right side having loss; weights having dents; not tested
