World War II German Army Lion Head Sword by Weyersberg

Having 34.75-inch blade with “Weyersberg Solingen” mark on ricasso, gilt brass-clad aluminum hilt retaining leather buffer pad, Wehrmacht eagle on langet, florals on guard and above wire-wrapped grip with lion / panther head pommel having faceted red stone eyes, additional definition compared to other swords of same period and specifications, including scabbard having black finish and single suspension ring

Condition: Good, overall light wear consistent with normal use, having minimal scuffs or scratches, nickel plating free of and major rust for deep pitting, some movement in hilt seemingly loose guard; occasional areas of finish loss resulting in appearance of gray base metal, grip retaining all (3) tiers of twisted wire wrapping per segment however having some looseness across segments, scabbard having occasional scuffs and scratches, maintaining majority of finish however lacking mouth piece
