World War II German Army Officer Dagger by Eickhorn

Having 10.25-inch / 27-cm drop forged steel and nickel plated blade retaining cross-grain pattern with Carl Eickhorn “seated squirrel” mark etched on reverse of ricasso, uniformly silverplated finished cast alloy fittings including guard retaining buffer pad, Eickhorn’s “Type 4” / final variation of Wehrmacht eagle clutching wreath on obverse, oak leaf ferrule and “12 leaf” pommel, dark orange / honey tone molded celluloid grip with angled grooves, correct naval / army metallic silver tone fabric portepee, magnetic metal scabbard of the single throat screw to reverse variation, dual suspension rings secured by oak leaf bands and pebbled panels to obverse and reverse, attached “deluxe M1935 Heer” spring clip hangers having all correct components including riveted steel reinforcement caps at top of straps, each marked “D.R.G.M.”, COA from HistoryHunter including unconditional, transferable lifetime guarantee

Condition: Good, overall light wear consistent with normal use, blade rated "mint" in COA, with no scratches other than runner marks, and occasional pen-tip sized spots of surface inconsistency, possibly forging / finishing flaws, retains at least 95-percent of original factory finish, crossgraining visible across obverse and reverse blade flats and edge portions, wear to cast alloy fittings mainly in the form of finish loss associated with age only, most noticeable on obverse and reverse of guard, ferrule and bottom of pommel, no prominent or scratches grip free of any cracks and only minor surface wear, portepee having minimal wear aside from area below guard where the cords are fastened against each other resulting in moderate friction wear; scabbard having minimal wear aside for extremely light occasional scratches to edges with minor finish inconsistencies other than patina lightening around obverse and reverse below throat, retaining smaller numeric collection label to reverse, hanger clips retaining strong spring pressure and both fully functional, hangers free of any rips or notable fraying, minimal wear including occasional loose stitches to aluminum flatwire stitching on reverse of buckles with additional wear appearing only as finish loss to metal components
