Word War II German Officer Air Force Sword by Weyersberg

Having 28.375-inch blade with “Paul Weyersberg & Co. Solingen” within ovals surrounding “wreathed sword” mark on ricasso with waffenamt inspection stamp centered above, cast aluminum hilt retaining leather buffer pad and having winged cross guard with gilt sun-wheel variation emblems to both sides above double wire-wrapped blue Moroccan leather grip as well as both sides of round pommel, with hand-etched oak leaf motif around edge of pommel, scabbard having grained blue Moroccan leather with polished aluminum fittings retaining all screws as well as integral hanger of same finish leather, stitched around dual suspension rings

Condition: Very Good, overall light wear consistent with normal use, drop forged steel blade completely free of any rust or surface pitting, nickel / silver plating retaining over 90 percent of original finish with occasional light surface scratches, some light surface wear to portions of leather on grip between wire-wrapped segments, retaining bright original gilt finish on sun-wheels with minimal light surface scratches to guard and pommel, scabbard having only occasional light scuffs and scratches and retaining at least 90 percent of original blue dye
